🦀 Ultimate Singapore Chilli Crab Tour: 🤍 🔔 SUBSCRIBE: 🤍 Don’t miss new food videos! 😀 KF Seetoh: 🤍 SINGAPORE - Today I’m hanging out with the one and only KF Seetoh, a legend of Singapore street food and hawker culture. We’re going to take you on a born and bred food tour of Singapore - dishes that were invented right here in Singapore. Here are all the places we ate at in this Singapore food tour: Bak Kee Teochew Satay Bee Hoon (🤍 - First we headed to Bukit Merah, also known as Red Hill. It’s a huge neighborhood complex, market and hawker center. There’s a massive selection of food to choose from, but KF Seetoh took me first to eat satay bee hoon, or thin angel hair vermicelli covered in seafood and pork, and a ladle of creamy peanut sauce. Hong Seng Curry Rice (🤍 - Within the same Red Hill hawker centre you’ll find Hong Seng Curry Rice, where you can enjoy another popular Singapore street food - Hainanese curry rice. Geylang Lorong 29 Hokkien Mee (🤍 - Continuing on this food tour we drove over to Geylang to eat one of the best versions of Hokkien fried prawn mee, a stir fried noodle dish that’s one of the most beloved in Singapore. They make it by the batch and we had the chance to see the entire process of how it’s made. Delicious! The Original Vadai (🤍 - Next up over to Joo Chiat to eat at the Original Vadai - a Sri Lankan origin - yet transformed in Singapore to be more light and fluffy, totally different texture and flavor. They are so addictive and one of the best things about them is that you bite a green chili and then follow it with bites of the prawn vadai. Sha Zah Confectionery (🤍 - Finally to complete this food tour with KF Seetoh we headed over to Sha Zah Confectionery for their giant curry puffs. A perfect way to end this delicious Singapore street food tour! Thank you again to KF Seetoh for taking me around. Be sure to follow his food adventures: 🤍 and if you’re in NYC, go eat at Urban Hawker center! 🎵MUSIC: 🤍 —————————————————— 📱FOLLOW: Instagram: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍

We only visited 9 out of 67 Singapore Michelin Bib Gourmand 2022 spots but surely they are worth trying when you are planning your trip / travel to Singapore. 1) Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice at Maxwell Food Centre One of the best Hainanese chicken rice we’ve ever eaten. If you are in Singapore, you need to try chicken rice which unofficially national dish of Singapore. 2) Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice at Chinatown Complex Be prepared to wait for about 1 hour for this claypot rice. We suggest to order mixed rice that comes with chicken, pork sausage, salted fish 3) J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff at Amoy Street Food Centre S$1.80 for the crispy curry potato chicken puff, freshly cooked and it’s perfect for snack 4) Hong Kee Beef Noodle at Amoy Street Food Centre Two options to choose soup or dry beef noodle. Whilst our preference is fully packed beefy noodle soup, this place serves clear and mild beef noodle soup. 5) A Noodle Story at Guoco Tower & Amoy Street Food Centre From humble beginning in hawker centre stall at Amoy Street Food Centre, this Singaporean style ramen earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for 7 consecutive years. 6) Eminent Frog Porridge at Geylang Well known spot to have frog even among local Singaporeans. Frog legs cooked in different sauces from Gong Bao (dried chili), Spring Onion, Chinese Essence, Chinese Herb Soup and paired with plain porridge. Both frog legs & plain porridge are cooked in claypot which make them so aromatic and super flavorful. We tried the Gong Bao with their promotion “buy 2 get 1 free” and did not regret it at all. 7) Tai Wah Pork Noodle at Hong Lim Market & Food Centre Hong Lim hawker centre is conveniently located not far from Chinatown Singapore. Tai Wah pork noodle is famous for bak chor mee that translates to minced meat noodles. Egg noodle tossed in vinegar, soy sauce, minced meat, pork slices, pork meatball and lard. 8) Song Fa Bak Kut Teh Bak Kut Teh means “meat bone tea” - basically pork rib dish cooked in broth of herbs and spices, known for health benefits. Song Fa Bak Kut Teh have many branches across Singapore and their broth is sweet peppery rather than herbal flavour. 9) Unagi Tei formerly known Man Man Japanese Unagi at Keong Saik Rd One of the best unagi dish we have tried outside Japan. Unagi Tei is famous for hitsumabushi, Nagoya specialty dish. Music for YouTube Epidemic Sound First 30 days free: 🤍 We're Nick and Helmi, Food and Travel Content Creator based in Sydney Australia. Chan Hon Meng is the master chef behind “Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle,” the food cart home to the cheapest Michelin-starred meal in the world. Ringing in at a mere $1.50, Meng’s perfected braised chicken recipe was passed down to him by his uncle. Now, he’s serving hundreds of meals a day out of his hawker in Singapore. And while his food has gained acclaim and recognition across the culinary community, Meng hasn’t forgotten his roots. He’s still serving up the same great food, all for under two bucks. AMAZING SINGAPORE HAWKER HERITAGE AT CHEAPER PRICES 🇸🇬- BOON LAY PLACE HAWKER CENTRE I somehow felt that hawkers in the central regions are raising their prices to $5 for the standard fair.. so I’m happy to see many are still offering prices around the $3.50 mark over at this hawker. The older the hawkers.. the more reluctant they seem to be when raising prices.. they somehow belt that it isn’t fair for the customers to be paying $5 a bowl. Yet many these days are increasing price to follow the trend of the newer players.. sad.. what’s the difference with dining at McDonald’s now.. a meal at a hawker centre now costs $7-10

Must Eat Foods in Singapore 🇸🇬 Part 1 Sharing some of the delicious foods I ate in Singapore! People say Singapore is the culinary capital of South East Asia and it is true! This country is a melting pot of so many different cultures and I love exploring the different types of foods they offered here. Here are a few dishes to start off the series: 🌟HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE 🐓 🍚 - A simple, yet delicious plate of tender chicken on top of a bed of rice cooked in chicken stock and chicken fat. 💵 Usually ~$3-6SGD | $2-4.50USD depending on the portion. 🌟BAK KUT TEH 🐖- A pork bone soup that’s cooked until tender with notes of pepper, garlic, and mild herbs. 💵 Usually ~$7SGD | $5USD for a small bowl of soup with 2-3 pork bones. 🌟CHENDOL🍧- An icy, sweet dessert that’s usually made with coconut milk, palm sugar syrup, grass rice jelly and sometimes red bean! Very similar to desserts from other countries such as Bingsoo from Korea, and Che from Vietnam. 💵$2-3SGD | $1.50-2USD depending on the toppings and stalls you go to From luxury fine dining to cheap hawker stalls, you’re going to definitely find something that will be a party in your mouth! I also had never seen so many Michelin-worthy meals at such an affordable price until I came to Singapore. You’ll probably find at least one Michelin recognized vendor in any hawker stall you visit. However, even if they are in the Michelin guide, doesn’t mean it is always good and sometimes my favorite places weren’t even in the guide. So don’t be afraid to try something new! Quick tip: If you see a line or a place full of locals, the food of probably good and you should definitely check it out! 🌟Check out my website & blog: 🤍 🌟GEAR: (I receive a small commission if purchased through these links at no extra to you) Main Video Camera: 🤍 Vlog Camera: 🤍 Lens: 🤍 Drone: 🤍 Mic: 🤍 Photography Camera: 🤍 🌟STALK ME ON MY SOCIALS: Travel IG: 🤍 Food IG: 🤍 Tiktok: 🤍 🌟MUSIC: Music by Metacell Music - Feeling Good - 🤍 Thank you for watching :)! Join me on a Singapore food tour of the famous Old Airport Road Food Centre! ►SINGAPORE FOOD GUIDE: 🤍 ►SINGAPORE TRAVEL GUIDE: 🤍 The best Singapore food blog is run by Dr. Leslie Tay (🤍 and back in 2010 he conducted a survey asking people about what they though was the best or their favorite hawker food center in Singapore. Old Airport Road Food Centre won by a significant margin, so it’s quite safe to say this hawker centre is among the best and one of the local favorites in the city. I think it’s such a great place to eat in Singapore mainly because it’s big, it’s spacious, there’s a huge selection of different things to eat, and since it’s one of the oldest hawker centers in Singapore, it’s also home to some legendary food stalls. Whitley Road Big Prawn Mee - Ying decided to first order a bowl of prawn mee (prawn noodles) from Whitley Road Big Prawn Mee - the main reason we went here is because the stall was continually busy with plenty of customers, and both of us love to eat shrimp. The yellow noodles came topped with some tangly prawns and doused in a salty shrimp tasting sauce with soup on the side. The dish was good, but a little on the salty side. Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee - Probably one of the most famous Singapore food stalls at this centre is Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee, known for serving a popular version of fried hokkien mee noodles. The mix of both yellow and white rice noodles was mixed with prawns and squid and then blended in a special sauce. It wasn’t a fried dry noodles, but it wasn’t overly sauce, but it was somewhere in between. I quite liked it, especially with a squeeze of calamansi and some of the chili soy sauce on it. Toa Payoh Rojak - Along with the fried Hokkien mee stall, this place for rojak is another one of the most famous places to eat at this centre. As soon as Toa Payoh Rojak opens for the day, they have a continuous long line of customers, and they specialize in serving Chinese style rojak - a mix of different things all coated in a sweet shrimp paste glaze. It’s one of those dishes that somewhere halfway in between a dessert and a savory snack, and when you’re eating it, you really don’t know. The Chinese rojak was quite good, with a very pleasant balance taste. Wang Wang Crispy Curry Puffs - Finally, for my last thing to eat at Old Airport Road Food Centre I really wanted to try some curry puffs. The curry puffs were actually much better than I had anticipated, with incredibly flaky crust, and filled with a flavorful inside of curried potatoes. Amazing especially because they were fried so fresh. Located in the CBD, Maxwell Food Centre is one of Singapore’s most well-known hawker centres. But with work-from-home now the default, the absence of working crowds takes a toll on the hawkers there. The owners of two well known stalls, China Street Fritters and Oriental Duck Stall, have survived decades in the hawker trade. Originating from roadside stalls at China Street, these hawkers have seen themselves through SARS, bouts of avian and swine flu, as well as the 2008 financial crisis. But with age catching up to them, and no successor in sight, they reckon with the fact that COVID-19 may be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back. = About On The Red Dot: CNA's weekly programme documents the stories of ordinary Singaporeans and celebrates their resilience, identity and sense of belonging. = On The Red Dot playlist: 🤍 #CNAInsider #OnTheRedDot #Singapore #HawkerCentre #SingaporeHawker For more, SUBSCRIBE to CNA INSIDER! 🤍 Follow CNA INSIDER on: Instagram: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Website: 🤍
