Cortina ski resort review 4k | ski resort video

Located in the Veneto region in North-East Italy, Cortina D’Ampezzo is one of the most famous ski resorts in the world. Cortina d’Ampezzo hosted the 1956 Olympics and since then was known as the most glamorous ski resort in Italy. The Ford company even named a car after it in the 70s, made a Bond movie in the 80s, and will host the 2026 winter Olympics. We had great expectations when we came there 10 years ago. We found an old resort with 3 unconnected small ski areas and very old ski lifts. The views were amazing, but the infrastructure and the discontinuity of the area gave us a big disappointment But when we came back in 2022, we discovered a rebirth of Cortina. The fact that Cortina will host the 2026 winter Olympics and the amazing developments that took place here during covid years are the reasons. If you want to see these new developments and get essential knowledge on recommended ski runs and other great tips on Cortina before booking your next ski holiday, you want to watch Our review on Cortina. Ski area The ski area of Cortina is 120 km of slopes. It used to be divided into 3 different ski areas: Tofana, Cinque Torri- Falzarego and Faloria-Cristallo, since the opening of the skyline gondola, Tofana and Cinque Torri areas are connected. The altitude is spread between 2830m and the town level at 1217m. 4 cable cars, 2 gondolas, 19 chairlifts and 2-t bars, a total of 27 lifts served the skiers. 45 km of easy blue runs(title 38%),59 km of intermediates red runs(title 49%) and 16 km of difficult black runs(title 13%) make up the 120 km of runs. From the Tofana area, you have valley runs to the village, but from the Faloria area, you will need to ride down the Faloria cable car. Cortina has an average annual snowfall of around 2.5 meters, but 95% of the runs are covered by snow cannons, the ski season here every year is from the end of November to the end of April. 6 days of adult skipass in the high season is 347€. For advanced skiers, we recommend adding 26€ and extending to the Dolomiti super skipass. Cortina is quite a big place for a ski resort. The Centre is Corso italia, 600 meters long pedestrian area full of fashion designer shops, boutiques, outdoor and winter sport shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. There are several alleys crossing the main street. The impressive 66 meters bell tower, in the middle of Corso Italia, is the symbol of Cortina. Apres ski and nightlife Cortina is not the glitz dancing queen it used to be in the 60’s and 70’s. There are many places where you can find wines and other alcoholic drinks for the Connoisseurs. If you are looking for a good vibe, you can beginn your evening at the sport bar at Corso Italia. recommended runs Tofana Olympia-stratofana run - it was the 1956 Olympics run and will be the 2026 Olympics as well as the women's alpine ski run in the Audi world cup circuit. One of the most famous in Europe and maybe the most beautiful in the world cup circuit. The most iconic part is the schoss, 35 black on the map. It is the steepest ski run from all the Dolomitisuperski 1220 km of slopes. Then it continues with 35 red. This run was hosting the women's downhill world cup more than 100 times! More than any other. All the runs from the top of lift 22 on the shoulder of Toffana mountain are good. Another recommended run is 51 black, Forcella Rosa. the longest black slope in Cortina and our favorite. It curved between dolomite towers with a panoramic view of Ampezzo valley. Cinque Torri area An amazing red run is Lagazuoi run( #2 on the ski map) 3 km curved red run between the cliffs with spectacular views of the cinque Torri area. It is maybe the least crowded run in Cortina. You must do the Lagazuoi tour, aka the hidden valley: instead of taking the right turn on the fork at lagazuoi peak, take the left one. You will enter the Armentarola slope, a 7.5 km red run, curving its way into the hidden valley. One of the most beautiful ski runs in the world, with frozen waterfalls around the way. The lagazuoi tour is part of the super 8 tour which is a route in which you have breathtaking views of 8 of the famous peaks of the dolomites. We recommend taking a break at the refugo Scoiattoli which is near the cinque Torri, five towers in Italien. A nice run if you begin your day here, is run 12. It will take you back to lift 4. The beginning point of the tour. Until 2021, you had to take a ski bus or drive with a car to get here and back to Cortina town, but now the best development Cortina did, the skyline gondola system, is a panoramic gondola that connects Tofana area and Cortina town, to the 5 Torri area. In the Faloria area we recommend Vitali Bassa, 62 red. For beginners, we recommend 61 blue, with panoramic views on Tofana and Cristallo mountains. thanks to 🤍 to compare Cortina to other ski resorts visit our website: 🤍

"The Greatest MTB Trail of the World", 5 rifugi, Cortina d'Ampezzo

Cortina D'Ampezzo - Ski Travel Guide - Italy's Dolomites

Thinking about visiting the Queen of the Dolomites? Want to know what it is like for skiing or snowboarding? Then you've come to the right place. I'll take you through a guided tour of the resort and its beautiful (but pricey) boutiques. Empty pistes and beautiful views.

Forcella Rossa Steepest Black Slope in Cortina d'Ampezzo

I recorded this video using 🤍DJI Osmo Pocket 2 in "Tilt Locked" mode. Even though you reach high speed on some sections of this fantastic black piste, the locked tilt makes sure your horizon is in order and the camera moves are smooth. 🙂 I used a head mount, which with DJI Pocket 2 turns you into a super geek on skis! But the smoothness of the shots is totally worth it - hope you like it too. The key trick is to find the proper tilt level, because if you don't tilt it downwards enough only the sky will fill out the frame and all the action lower on the piste will be out of frame. For finding the perfect tilt you can use Mimo app. iPhone connects wirelessly with DJI Pocket 2, and then once you mount it on your head, you can adjust the tilt on your phone screen as it shows you what DJI Pocket sees - super cool! The Forcella Rossa black ski slope (part of 🤍DolomitiSuperski pass) starts from Ra Valles above Cortina d'Ampezzo. You first ski down Pian Ra Valles blue piste after taking the Col Druscie cable car, and then right through the rocks onto Forcella Rossa. Throw yourself down the mountain and conquer 62 gradient walls! Enjoy fantastic views of Cortina valley and the surrounding Dolomites, and you will reach Rumerlo where you continue into the Muro de Ra Cioures blue piste. Fly through the forest and reach Col Druscie cable car. Video Timecodes 00:00 Forcella Rossa - Cortina's Steepest Black! 02:58 Muro de Ra Cioures - Blue Piste Through the Forest Like and subscribe if you like these DJI Osmo Pocket 2 skiing videos. 😀🎥 🎧 Listen to my tracks on Spotify: 🤍 * Ho registrato questo video usando il DJI Osmo Pocket 2 in modalità "Tilt Locked". 😀🎥

CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy (4K Town Tour) Stunning Day/Night and Walking/Aerial Footage

Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy (4K Town Tour) features stunning and spectacular aerial, walking, and drone video footage great for travel, visit, and tourism planning set to original music. Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italian pronunciation: [korˈtiːna damˈpɛttso], commonly referred to as Cortina, is a town and comune (a basic constituent entity of Italy, roughly equivalent to a township or municipality) in the heart of the southern (Dolomitic) Alps in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. Situated on the Boite river, in an alpine valley, it is a winter sport resort known for its skiing trails, scenery, accommodation, shops and après-ski scene, and for its jet set and Italian aristocratic crowd. In the Middle Ages, Ampezzo fell under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Aquileia and of the Holy Roman Empire. In 1420 it was conquered by the Republic of Venice. It then spent much of its history under Habsburg rule, briefly undergoing some territorial changes under Napoleon, before being returned to the Austrian Empire (later Austria-Hungary), who held it until 1918. From the nineteenth century, Ampezzo became a notable regional centre for crafts. The local handmade products were appreciated by early British and German holidaymakers as tourism emerged late nineteenth century. Among the specializations of the town were crafting wood for furniture, the production of tiled stoves and iron, copper and glass items. Today, the local economy thrives on tourism, particularly during the winter season, when the population of the town typically increases from about 7,000 to 40,000. The Basilica Minore dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo was built between 1769 and 1775 on the site of two former thirteenth and sixteenth-century churches; it is home to the parish and the deanery of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The town also contains the Rinaldo Zardini Palaeontology Museum, established in 1975, the Mario Rimoldi Modern Art Museum, and the Regole of Ampezzo Ethnographic Museum. Although Cortina was unable to go ahead with the scheduled 1944 Winter Olympics because of World War II, it hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956 and subsequently a number of world winter-sports events. Cortina will host the Winter Olympics for a second time when it co-hosts the 2026 Winter Olympics with Milan. The town is home to SG Cortina, a top league professional ice hockey team, and Cortina is also the start and end point of the annual Dolomites Gold Cup Race. Several films have been shot in the town, mostly notably The Pink Panther (1963), For Your Eyes Only (1981) and Cliffhanger (1993). Ernest Hemingway, Saul Bellow, Dino Buzzati, as well as Vittorio Gassman, Leonardo Sciascia, Leonardo Mondadori and many others, spent their vacations in the town and took part in the cultural life of the city. Through the years, this led to a continuous activity of literature festivals and book presentations, like Una Montagna di Libri ("A Mountain of Books"), held twice a year since 2009. The festival attracted to Cortina writers as Azar Nafisi, Peter Cameron, Emmanuel Carrère. Cortina D'ampezzo cable car Tofana 2021 & hike to Lake Ghedina @ Ristorante da Bepi

I took the Tofana Cable Car to the highest Pizzeria in the World+hiked to Lago di Ghedina for Lunch 🤍 Ristorante da Bepi 🇮🇹 - The highest peak of Cortina d’Ampezzo - During Summer, Tofana – Freccia nel Cielo lifts drive the visitor to discover a whole area, from Cortina d’Ampezzo (1224 m) to Cima Tofana (3244 m). The majestic landscape, which surrounds the cable car, was not spoiled by its construction, in fact the stations were built inside the rock, in this way mountains were still visible. The new gondola drives to Col Druscié 1778 m. The first section of the cable car drives to Ra Valles 2470 m. The second section of Tofana – Freccia nel Cielo cable car allows the visitors to reach the peak of the highest mountain of Cortina d’Ampezzo, Tofana di Mezzo (3244 m), and to admire the landscape, having a 360° perspective on the Dolomites thanks to a large panorama terrace. - The hike: The starting point for this walk is the cable car Freccia nel Cielo, behind the Olympic Ice Stadium. Take the cable car up to Col Druscié. When you exit the top station, you will find a track that goes downhill towards Pié Tofana: follow the track until you reach the junction with track n° 410, on your right, and take this path. Carry on along the edge of Lake In Po’ Druscié, a small heart-shaped lake used for making artificial snow, and continue on the same track, amidst trees and views onto the Tofane mountains that are an impressive sight on your left. After the intersection with track n° 409, stay on track n° 410, descending in the ever-thicker forest until you reach Lake Ghedina, magical both for its haunting beauty, and because it is the setting for the events described in some Dolomitic legends. For example, in a nocturnal ritual the warrior prince Ey de Net came here to consult the lake’s nymphs for their omens on the kingdom’s future. - The Lago Ghedina lakeside restaurant offers a sophisticated venue for a gourmet lunch, on the lake-view terrace or in the interior dining-rooms with their traditional decor.Situated close to the ski slope and downtown Cortina, you may appreciate the Italian charming atmosphere and delicious food. Price are very competitive, and the kindness and hospitality of the people make the experience unique. I would recommend the pasta dishes, the grilled meat as well as the desserts. I enjoyed the grappa and coffee served for free on the deck after the meal. Could not imagine a better experience. A lovely location where you can stay overnight too (B&B) and from where you can walk and hike on the mountains around. Top 4 Lakes Near Cortina d'Ampezzo + Travel To Ortisei | Dolomites Travel Guide 4K

In this video we'll explore the top 4 lakes near Cortina d'Ampezzo as well as the beautiful sights along the way to Ortisei! The best lakes we choose to be a part of this video are Lago di Braies, Lago di Dobbiaco, Lake Misurina, and Lago di Landro. We also share with you guys some travel tips for Dolomiti including the famous row boat at Braies. Enjoy the cinematic sequences of this Dolomites Travel Vlog in 4k! ULTIMATE Dolomites itinerary: 🤍 The number of lakes in Northern Italy’s Dolomites are few, but they are mighty in views! During the last two days that we had in Cortina d’Ampezzo, we spent our time visiting the nearby lakes, each one of them being incredibly unique and easily accessible from the car park. We had to start off with a bang by visiting the most famous lake in the whole region: Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee). This was our first moment visiting the South Tyrol region, where both Italian and German, as well as Ladin, are spoken throughout. Lago di Braies was the calmest lake we have ever seen! And one of the most crowded lakes at the early hour of 7am. A must-do activity at Lago di Braies is taking out a traditional row boat out onto the water to immerse yourself in the green-blue water and surrounding peaks. Lago di Dobbiaco (Toblacher See) was the next gorgeous lake on the map where the water was so clear that you could see the green algae wade calmly as the ducks swam across! Making your way south down the same road SS51 got us to the shallow and vibrant turquoise Lago di Landro (Dürrensee), and finally the deep blue Lago di Misurina enveloped by mountains and guesthouses! Cortina D'Ampezzo 2023r

Dolomiti Superski - Cortina d'Ampezzo
